Miss McRocks Story
Every year the students in my class would make so much progress, gel together as a team and improve in their ability to work with others, as well as, solve their social and emotional issues in a harmonious manner. I started to reflect on what it was that I was doing differently. The answer was simple..... it was my social skills role plays and questioning techniques that were the key. During our role plays and classroom reenactments I would often think to myself... "I wish I had a teacher like me when I was little". Not only did the students learn so much about how to problem solve but I learnt through the process too. As the years went by.... almost 20.... I realised that the world needs help, caregivers need help, children need help and therefore Miss McRocks was invented. She is my alter ego in the classroom, the person that can be a little bit silly, wears crazy socks and helps nurture people to become independent problem solvers. My legacy in this world is to help more people. I hope that Miss McRocks can help you and your children and many future generations to come.
